Yanqing launches a new round of afforestation to protect Winter Olympics landscapes

On April 2, Yanqing District, one of the three major competition zones of the Beijing Winter Olympics, launched a large-scale voluntary tree planting campaign with the theme of "working together to protect the Winter Olympics and building a beautiful Beijing". The district started a new round of million-mu (666.67sqm)afforestation for the Winter Olympics landscape protection, and plans to complete afforestation of 7904.26 mu this year.

It was reported that on the Tree Planting Day, more than 30,000 people in Yanqing District participated in voluntary tree planting activities, planting nearly 20,000 trees of various types. At the same time, the district also implemented refined management of more than 200,000 mu of plain ecological forests and formulated relevant emergency plans to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the landscaping environment protection and the safe and smooth progress of the Winter Olympic Games-related events.
