On the afternoon of October 20, the Beijing Olympic Museum virtually attended the 17th General Assembly of the OMN and Hou Ming, director of the Beijing Olympic Museum, delivered a presentation on the museum’s application for membership. The presentation received positive response from Angelita Teo, OMN chair, director of the Olympic Foundation for Culture and Heritage and the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, and other members of the OMN.

Becoming a member of the OMN is an important milestone for the Beijing Olympic Museum. It will accelerate the museum’s internationalisation process, help the museum strengthen international exchanges and cooperation with other members of the OMN, and allow it to play a bigger role in promoting the Olympic Movement. It will also help the museum to improve the abilities required to “tell China’s stories well,” promote Chinese culture, and present a good image of China on the international stage. In the future, the Beijing Olympic Museum will work with other members of the OMN to contribute to the protection, promotion and development of Olympic legacy, Olympic education, and Olympic culture, as well as the development of the Olympic Movement in China.
